TANIA RUSSELL: WHAT'S IN HER KIT
Today on Glossible I am excited to share with you our new series called “What’s in Your Kit?”…the inside look of professional makeup artist’s kits.
I wanted to show you some of my amazingly talented makeup artists friends! I know that social media has made everyone a makeup artist (haha!) but in this series, I am showcasing the real working makeup artists of the world. I know ya’ll wanna know what’s in their professional makeup kits…..Some of the answers may surprise you.
Grab some coffee or a glass of booze and dive right in! I hope you enjoy it.
Tania D. Russell is a born and raised native of Los Angeles. She started her career in film and then went on to work on numerous music videos including videos for Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears. I wonder…can Tania bust a move?
Now Tania works primarily in editorial and advertising. She is known for her clean, precise application emphasizing beautiful skin, with the ability to get wild when the need arises. Me-ow!
Besides makeup, Tania is a lifelong musician and singer, a serious (veggie!) foodie and baker, and she’s even been known to hit a wave or two on a surfboard (although not very well she admits). Tania works throughout the West Coast and is available both nationally and internationally. In other words, this bitch is bad.ass.
I hope you like her up close & personal peek inside her makeup kit
A LITTLE ABOUT MY KIT
I specialize in:
Since I do different types of jobs, I have different types of kits……trying to shove everything I own into one kit isn’t smart or wise.
The kit pictured is my “standard” commercial kit. This is the state of my kit having returned from working out of town for a sportswear catalog client.
For celebrity jobs or private clients, I would have an entirely different kit with different products, based on the different needs of each client.
SHIT YOU CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT
My brushes. Various brands some known, some not. My brushes have been carefully curated over many years of being a working artist. Also a good eyelash curler and lots of false eyelashes. I love false eyelashes.
I either use a sturdy suitcase OR I use a Zuca Backpack. I generally use the suitcase when I am going to be in studio and need both makeup and hair or when I'm in a city where I'm taking public transportation (like when I take the BART in San Francisco). I also use the Stilazi Pouches for compartmentalizing.
If I'm on location, or if it's a smaller job where I do not need as much, etc., I will use the Zuca backpack.
