ARTIST SHOWCASE: HOLIDAY FOOTBALL GAMES JUST GOT A LITTLE MORE INTERESTING

Today we are going GLOBAL, Glossikittens! We are featuring this TOUCHDOWN of a photoshoot (sorry I couldn't resist) of Prague makeup artist Linda Chudomelová

Linda is an active member on our Glossible Facebook Group and not only is she a super talented and knowledgable makeup artist, her positive energy and spirit are always inspiring to me. I love chatting with her in the group.

On a sidenote: I need to plan a trip to Prague to visit and take the city in with a native local. If you haven't been to Prague, it is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever had the pleasure to visit. The Ghost Tour is a must on your to do list. :P

I hope you enjoy these images of one of my favorite up and coming artists. (Who is self taught by the way and only 3 years in.)

>>What inspired you to create this look?
The theme of the shoot was set before I was even invited onto the project, so I knew - more or, well, less - what I'd be doing. I let the elements inspire me - the youth of the models, the warpaint of the players, the uniqueness of the clothes, it just all melted together. I was given almost a free hand, so I let my gut instinct lead me.

>>Special Tricks:
I wanted the red warpaint to have that dry, powdery texture, so I used a very pigmented red eyeshadow. On the other hand, the black warpaint I wanted a matte finish and longevity, so I used a liquid lipstick that set matte, applied either with my fingers or a brush.

>>What was your biggest fear with this shoot?
That I wouldn't deliver, this is always my number one fear. I needed to wow everyone out of their shoes or the mission is a failure. I'm really good at pressuring myself like that. I was afraid that I wouldn't put enough makeup on the girls and they would disappear in the crowd. Then I was afraid that it would be overkill. I wanted them to be feminine, yet fresh, as they were both all of glorious fourteen years old.

I had an idea about where that balance was, but it took a while to find THE look that clicked.

>>How long have you been a makeup artist?
3 years

>>What would you have done differently?
I feel that the black warpaint running down the center of one of the girls' faces faded too much into the background at points. I would have used a red one, definitely.

Also, in retrospect, the eye makeup could have been executed better - needs more symmetry.
